Most help articles on the web are inaccurate or incoherent. Not this!

This introduces a pleasingly rational point of view.

Baby things huh. Let's see.... of course you can knit things. What you'll get the most wear out of though is practical things. Receiving blankets can be homemade - I made a bunch for my grandkids. Also you can make your own diapers and diaper covers. Wash cloths. I really used my diaper holder - it hung on the wall and I used it to store diaper covers actually. If you're going to nurse, you'll need lots of nice little pillows (or one of those big bendy ones) to stuff in around and under your arms when the baby is little and position is everything. Hats. And a mobile, that would be fun to make. Of course a quilt either for the baby or for the wall, in bright colors that babies love.

there are so many things to do artsy/science project wise. your best bet would be to go to your local library. they have a section just for this sort of thing. at my library they even have crafts & art 3 days a week, free for an hour. baking, sand play, water experiments, the list goes on. the magazine parents day always has some good ones too. my 7 year old son loves to cook!!! or make pb & jelly with shapes, and food color the pancakes. we also bought acrylic paint from wal-mart (44 cents a big bottle) and he picked rocks out of the yard and painted those, along with his old hot wheels. my hubby crushed a couple under the tires and we made a monster truck simulation and glued it together, so that sits on his shelf. there is a few for ya.happy crafting!References :
