You really can’t go by brand. It’s about individual models. (Yes, some brands that don’t show up in running specialty stores should be avoided entirely, but if it’s something normal for running stores to carry, then you yourself just need to worry about models.)No, Nike isn’t that bad for running. Sometimes they’ll do things like the Nike Plus system which can be useful for many, but the sensor pocket in some models will interfere with an otherwise great shoe, and so on. Superficially, all those things can make Nike seem somewhat unreliable when it comes to running shoes.Some salespeople also carry a bit of resentment for Nike for being such a large powerful company, and for being one that can sometimes seem more focused on marketing, trends, and money than on the athletics themselves.
